I started My Healthcare Report in the fall of 2017 as an aggregate news site for the latest articles on healthcare. So much money is spent on healthcare, I figured that providing the latest news about trending stories, technology and research in medicine, and the business of healthcare would be of interest. I worked with a really great Web Host Agent, Charles Thompson, to develop My HCR. He helped turn my vision into a reality. Thanks, Charles, for all your help!
I knew that it was important to have a meaningful URL, so I spent a good deal of time trying to come up with a solid, maybe even catchy, name for the Web site. I settled on My Healthcare Report because that’s what it has been.
About a year ago, I began to have doubts about the future of My HCR because I could not get anyone to advertise, even at ridiculously low rates like $3 a month. In May, I decided to wait until September to see if Google Ads could be the source of a few dollars, but they are a terrible nuisance. I never intended to get rich with the Web site, just to earn enough to pay the monthly hosting fee. That hasn’t happened. Soooo, I’m pulling the plug on the Web site.
Today’s report for September 27, 2019, is the final one. I will miss it a little, but I won’t be spending time late at night, populating the Web site with new material for the next day. And, there are a number of other projects that have lain dormant, and now I will have the time to get to them.
